New York Fashion Week – designers have an orange crush

So we are officially half-way through New York Fashion Week. Four days and nights of shows are behind us with four more to come. So it’s as good a time as any to take a look at what designers have in mind for us for next year.

The answer – orange. Lots and lots of orange. It has absolutely been the colour of NYFW thus far, with many big name designers using it liberally in their collections and many makeup artists going for bold orange lips.

Monique Lhullier went crazy for it with over half of the outfits she sent down the catwalk featuring bold shots of orange – this is just a sample of the many orange-splashed looks in her collection.

Christian Sirano was also a big fan of orange with several of his lacy confections featuring the colour in full effect.

Tracy Reese’s collection featured some of the best use of orange that we’ve seen thus far with bright colour combinations pairing orange with blue and fantastic mix and match patterns.

And as we said, orange lipstick has been all over the place – featuring heavily on the Rag and Bone catwalk and also showing up strongly at Prabal Gurung and DKNY.
