I am so proud to feature the next brilliant and creative Caribbean woman in the ‘I Am An Islandista’ series.
One - because like I said, she’s brilliant and creative.
Two, because I’ve been able to witness her brilliance and creativity up close for about ten years now as we go way back to our UWI days.
Many of you would have seen her cool, very Caribbean design work in regional lifestyle magazine Maco where she was the design manager for several years.
Now, she has branched out, starting her own company, the quirkily and Trini-ly named Everything Slight Pepper. And just these last few months she has branched out even further, starting the ESP jr. line of baby clothing which I am basically obsessed with.
Three, because she really is what you think of when you think of an islandista – island-hopping, Carnival-loving and all.
And so, in her own words, I present to you… Jeunanne Alkins.
Islandista: is Jeunanne Alkins?
Jeunanne Alkins: A design entrepreneur and artist. I run a Caribbean Design Studio called Everything Slight Pepper(ESP) specializing in publication design and branding. I also recently launched a new division called ESPjr, which is devoted to the creation of indigenous content for young audiences.
